AC REPAIR VS. REPLACEMENT
Over time, your A/C unit will break down and need repairs. However, there comes a point when the cost of repairs starts to outweigh the benefits of keeping your current system. If you have any of these issues, the repair is the best option:
- Minor issues, such as a broken fan blade
- Tripped breakers or blown fuses
- Leaking Freon
- Dirty coils
On the other hand, if you have any of these problems, you might need to replace your A/C unit:
- Your unit is pushing the 15-year mark
- You make repairs frequently
- Your energy bills have made a noticeable increase
You might also consider an A/C replacement even if your current unit still has a few years of life left in it. If you have an older system, we can likely save you money by swapping it out now with a more efficient model.
THE PROCESS OF REPLACING AN AIR CONDITIONER
If you’ve decided that replacement is the best option for you, there are a few things you should know about the process. We’ll need to:
Inspect your ductwork for leaks or damage and repair or replace it as necessary
- Remove your old A/C unit
- Install your new A/C unit
- Test the new unit to ensure it’s working properly
- Dispose of your old unit according to local regulations
The entire process usually takes no more than a few days. We can even install your new system in as little as one day in most cases.
